FIRST SILVER AWARD WINNER
BEYOND THE MOON has a special way of recognising its loyal sponsors and partners, which consists of various categories of awards (bronze, silver, gold, platinum), each category corresponding to an ascending number of families who, thanks to the support of those sponsors, have enjoyed an unforgettable BEYOND THE MOON vacation. Since the start of our partnership with Wyndham Hotel Group (www.wyndham.com), back in 2005, already twenty-three families with a sick child have had the opportunity to benefit from a well deserved, carefree and cost-free family vacation! In recognition of their commitment to support BEYOND THE MOON, we acknowledged Wyndham Hotel Group as a BEYOND THE MOON SILVER AWARD WINNER for their 20 families, who have so far spent precious quality time together. Wyndham Hotel Group is the first sponsor who receives this silver award. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
WYNDHAM REWARDS® PROGRAMME
With more than 6,000 hotels and resorts around the globe and hundreds of reward options, Wyndham Rewards® (www.wyndhamrewards.com) is the free travel rewards programme that lets you earn and redeem any way you like. Free night stays, airline miles, car rentals, shopping & dining, travel and also charitable donation rewards. Starting 19 September 2008, members of the Wyndham Rewards® programme can contribute their points in support of BEYOND THE MOON. Wyndham Rewards® converts the points redeemed, starting at 2.200 points, into cash contributions for the association and will make a charitable donation on the members' behalf. The cash contributions generated through Wyndham Rewards® will be used for families with a sick child from across the various countries where the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands conducts business.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES

For the third year in a row, PREM Group Ireland (www.premgroup.com) organised a Golf Outing Charity Day in favour of BEYOND THE MOON at the Tulfarris Golf Course in Wicklow, Ireland on 29 August 2008. Like the previous golf editions in 2006 and 2007, the 2008 edition was very successful with an amount of €8.000 raised in favour of more Irish families with a sick child.

On 16 July, Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, Malta (www.corinthia.com) held a Summer Garden Party by the hotel pool. An English police band, visiting Malta, performed that evening free of charge. The expenses involved in the organisation of this special event were all sponsored. This resulted in a fantastic amount of €2.040 raised in favour of BEYOND THE MOON and more Maltese sick children. The hotel is organising another fundraiser on 17 October 2008: the Vissi D’Arte Concerto Lyrico in the Chameleon Hall followed by a Gala Dinner in Villa Corinthia. Good luck!
Last July 2008, Ramada Hotel Regina Titlis, Switzerland (www.ramada.com) celebrated its 25th anniversary and held a rather unusual kind of auction in favour of BEYOND THE MOON. After the cocktail, the hotel's General Manager auctioned her staff from the kitchen, the restaurant and the room service against a 3-course menu for four persons, garden help and an auto surveillance. This original idea was very successful and generated a fabulous amount of €1.569 in only 30 minutes! Well done!
On 1st July 2008, Premier Apartments Liverpool, United Kingdom (www.premgroup.com) organised a karaoke evening with live acts from a local entertainment company and raised €415. They also arranged raffles and a bingo and the evening was a great success.
On 25 August 2008, Hospitality Alliance AG, Germany (www.ramada.de) held their second “Ramada Soccer Cup 2008” in Leipzig, hosted and organised by Ramada Hotel Leipzig and Ramada Hotel Leipzig Halle, winners of the Soccer Cup 2007. Various hotel teams played to win the cup, so as to be able to organise the “Ramada Soccer Cup 2009” at their own hotel. Ramada Hotel Kassel won and will be the host next year! A nice amount of €750 was raised.
Last August 2008 in Hannover, a children's party organised by the city authorities was held at the market place. Hospitality Alliance AG's "Rudi Ramada" mascot went around and attracted many children's attention to the "Chance to Win" wheel at the booth of Ramada Hotel Europa Hannover, Germany (www.ramada.de). This fundraising wheel was also used at another event back in May 2008. Rudi Ramada collected a total amount of €265.
